Event ϟ The Center of the Western World

Friday morning, while Olympian Council is still Deciding about Things, the rest of the kids are free to explore whatever they'd like. That is to say, the gods, knowing most of these kids have no clue what's going on and little to no training, have had their followers set up booths and information stands.

Like Thursday night, one of the most prominently advertised booths (to young, female virgins anyway), is the Hunters of Artemis. The goddess needs handmaidens, and it pains her to think of her missing Hunters. The woman running the booth has long black hair, copper skin and a circlet of silver rests on her head. She glares at any men who come near. Just don't. You're not worthy.

Close by, there's a table advertising Hephaestus TV run by beautiful wind spirits. A TV shows a TV program called "So You Think You Can Weave Better Than a Goddess?" Clearly, it's a re-run.

Then there are booths for more simple stuff, like Hermes' Multivitamins (guaranteed to have all the nutrients you need to get back to fighting fit shape! They come in little chewy shapes, like lemon Minotaurs and grape Furies... or Harpies, one or the other), gorgeously crafted weaponry, tools and instruments (all at a price far too high for demigods), and displays for things like Apollo's sun chariot (don't touch, little cousins. If you're good he might take you on a spin tomorrow, especially the cute girls Apollo stop [in his defense, Olympian blood does not count, he's only related to the Zeus kids, if biology is a thing].)

Chiron will be waiting outside the Hall of the Gods, letting the Heroes run free. It won't be until later that the Big Three kids will be decided on. So for now, try to distract yourselves. Cheer up, be confident in your friends. Have fun.

Umi almost loses her footing before hugging Fuu back and then some, arms tight around her. It's good. She's alive, and they can do this.

"...if it's not obvious, they decided to let us live." If this was last goodbyes she'd be acting a little differently.

"When I woke up you were already with the gods." You scared the shit out of her, wake her up next time. "I promised I'd help and I couldn't do anything. I'm so glad you're all right." She isn't letting go just yet. Maybe in a few seconds but just let her have this.

She didn't need to freak you out, or more importantly, obliterate her own nerves by sitting around being nervous with Fuu. "S-sorry, but... I needed to try to keep my head clear." Now, though, she can be emotional; Umi definitely sounds a little choked up. "I'm alright Fuu. I'm here for you, and I'm not going anywhere."

Oh, no, Umi don't cry or Fuu will, too.

"I knew they'd eventually see reason." No you didn't.

Nope not crying. Holding it in. She'll be good. "Just... barely enough of them did."

She takes a deep breath, pulling back a little. "Both of our fathers did."

That makes her smile a little and she tightens her grip. "I'm glad. I don't think I could have lived under his patronage if he'd agreed to harm you."

Don't burst her bubble. "I can't imagine your father wanting to kill you to begin with. You're a fantastic daughter."

"Apollo had a good argument too." Poetry aside.

Finally putting on a smile, she pats Fuu on the shoulder. "Thanks. Poseidon seems pretty alright."

Fuu pulls away and she is still beaming. "I'm glad you like him. Do you want to tell me about it?"

"He brought up that the rest of you wouldn't cooperate if they went through with it." Which seems obvious? "Then he... kinda followed it up with a crappy haiku, but hey, that's way less of a problem than wanting to kill us."
