[Open] New Home

Who: Ssilissa, anyone wandering by
When: Afternoon of May 27th
Where: Just outside Cabin 11
What: Ssil, contemplating her new destiny
Warnings: Not much. Possibly minor sadness?

In some ways, Cabin 11 reminded her of the Sophronia. It certainly seemed like the cabin had seen better days from the outside - as if the last coat of paint had been many years ago. Or, considering this was Hermes's cabin, as if there had been a bad case of fumes getting spread into the air. It was a bit comforting, really - not the same thing at all, but a reminder of home.

She hoped the others could find another alchemist. It couldn't be too hard, if they were working with the government now, but she still felt guilty about not being with them, even if she was needed here. Another alchemist might not understand the little quirks of the Sophronia's engine, or they'd be alarmed by the way the old ship creaked - maybe they would have trouble working in a ship with no gravity generator. And to be frank, Ssil would miss being on the ship. It was going to be hard to get to sleep without the feeling of her hammock rocking underneath her.

She hummed an old aether-shanty to herself softly as she walked around the building, with the rolling gait of someone still used to the deck of a ship. It wasn't as if she'd be doing any alchemy today, but just in case she still had her goggles around her neck and her heavy gloves tucked into one pocket of her jeans - now those were a good idea. She'd have to remember denim if she ever went back to her own world. She was still getting used to not having scales, but it wasn't as warm as leather would have been in the spring sun.

At least she could try to make some new friends here - just because whichever god was her parent hadn't made their presence known yet didn't mean she had to keep being lonely. That was probably why everybody started off in Cabin 11, come to think of it - a chance to make friends outside of one's siblings in the first days at camp. Still... "We should really give this place a new coat of paint sometime," she said to herself.
